Roasted Duck in Oven Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole duck, cleaned and pat-dried
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, cut into wedges
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 cup chicken broth

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Rub the duck inside and out with the spice mixture.
  4. In a roasting pan, place the onion wedges, garlic, thyme and olive oil.
  5. Place the duck on top of the vegetables, breast side up.
  6. Bake the duck for about 1 hour and 30 minutes, basting every 30 minutes with the chicken broth.
  7. Increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C) and brush the duck with honey.
  8. Bake for another 10-15 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  9. Remove from the oven and let the duck rest for 5-10 minutes before carving.
